Describe what you do creatively.
I use painting as a way to translate everyday or already existing details into abstraction. My work explores how abstracted shapes can be used and changed through studio painting, large-scale mural work, and other processes. How forms can be used and reused in new ways and how this can contribute to our visual experience of being in the world.

Do you identify as an artist, illustrator, designer or something else?
Artist

Do you stick to a defined stylistic direction in your work?
I circle around similar themes and because of this there are also overlapping ways that I approach my work visually.

If so, describe that direction and what led to that decision.
My work is informed by painting and its history as well as commercial image production and technology. These interests allow me to enter into painting in different ways.

What colours and/or shapes excite you?
All the colours and all the shapes.

What is your relationship with chaos?
In the right moments or the right circumstances chaos can be very productive. I find that artistic chaos and studio chaos can be liberating.

Do you take risks or play it safe?
I take a measured approach to risk.

What discourages you from being creative?
I am not very often discouraged. Like everyone, I have occasional moments of second-guessing and lack of confidence, however I am quick to recover.

What are you expecting from the RMXTV experience?
To think and act quickly.

What do you know about the RMX projects?
That they are a boost of creative energy.
